Chelsea head to the summit

Chelsea are now 9/4 to win the Premier League after they beat Southampton 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to go top of the table.

It was a much-needed result for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who were beaten 1-0 at home by Manchester City in their previous league match and then lost by the same scoreline in Europe to Juventus.

Favourites City are now 5/6 to win the title after they drew with 9/2 shots Liverpool on Sunday. It was a pulsating match in which 2-2 was probably a fair scoreline after City had dominated the first period. City will be confident of winning a fourth title in five seasons and Liverpool a second in three.

Manchester United are 12/1 to win a 21st league title but have taken just one point from their past two matches, both at home, against Everton and Aston Villa.
