THE Matabeleland North Division Two Leagues entered its second week with no upsets in the matches.

Three braces marked the start of the Division Two A League which is based in Victoria Falls.

Ngqabutho Ncube scored a brace for Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo’s Ngqabutho Ncube opened his account with a brace in a spell of 10 minutes after finding the target in the 34th and 44th minute after Breakaway had their defender breaking the deadlock with an own goal in the 19th minute.

Pride Maphosa made it 3-1 in the 63rd minute.

Mengesi Sibanda was the toast of the Amagagasi side that fired four goals past Classic Luyando. His double was scored in the 24th and 50th minutes with two other additions from Mzwandile Nkomo (72nd minute) and Ishmael Sibanda 12 minutes earlier.

Nakuluba started their campaign with goals from Nkululeko Sibanda in the 30th and 55th minute and Anelka Mafayita sufficient to ensure 3-0 win over Twelve Stars.

Former league champions Trumus had Rufaro Dzikiti, Braden Jonhera and Darlington Tsikwa hitting the back of the net in a comfortable home match against Corinthians who produced a blunt strikeforce in this derby.

Innocent Ndlovu and Maxmillan Sibanda’s Golden Lions triumphed 2-0 over Discovery.

The match between Victoria Falls Academy and Monde United was postponed.

In the other provincial league of Hwange clubs, Iwisa once the pride of Lwendulu with Rufaro Rovers beating Lukosi Pirates 4-0 at St Mary’s. Goals by Mavuto Ngwenya (2), Proud Richards and Cleopas Kasongola enabled Thembinkosi Rendo`s lads to leap to the top of the log.

Mpumalanga edged Zambezi Deka 3-2, Madumabisa Kidsnet saw Rodney Mwenda making all the difference with his solitary strike.

League boss Busani Dube described the start of the leagues as fair and that they were looking forward to a good season.
