HWANGE Football Club bounced back to the top of the log in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League following their 2-0 triumph over Casymn in Turk Mine yesterday.

The win saw the Bongani Mafu coached Hwange rise to the top with 11 points. Earlier on, Arenel Movers, who headed into yesterday’s fixtures on the summit of the log played out a goalless draw with Talen Vision in a midday kickoff at White City Stadium.

Arenel, with 10 points have also been overtaken by Ratanang who are now second with 11 points after the latter defeated CIWU 1-0 at Luveve Stadium’s B-arena. Talen Vision, who last Sunday blew an opportunity to climb to the top of the log as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Indonsakusa at home in Filabusi remain fourth with seven points.

Two consecutive draws had seen Hwange drop down to second on the log, with Arenel leading the way. Bosso90 suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost 2-1 to Makhandeni Pirates at White City Stadium. Prior to the loss, the Melusi “Mabaleka” Sibanda coached Highlanders development side had won one match and drawn three.
