GOLDEN Lions Football Club founding director Macmillan has sent an SOS for his Victoria Falls based outfit.

“We are a small club that wants to concentrate on the developing of future stars. Resources have been scarce and we have survived on the goodwill of community members.

“We need more equipment and support towards travelling to away matches. Football is the vehicle we are using to fight social ills by keeping youths engaged in physical activity which is good for wellness, they entertain community and who knows we may pluck the next great gem,” said Sibanda.

The project was founded Sibanda and Innocent Ndlovu a former Njube Sundowns player.

Express Cargo, Zambezi Boutique, MTH Makomwe, J and M Motors, Rhino Trading, Ishingu Jinopa, Cllr Nkanyiso Sibindi, Mayor of the City of Victoria Falls Somvelo Dlamini have been in the forefront of helping the project.

Sibanda said they are happy to be playing Division Two football and that the assembled young side will cause a few headaches to the opposition.

Recently the club added Arsene Ncube to bolster their attack.

He is expected to play a role in this afternoon’s clash with Victoria Falls Academy.

The Golden Lions project has Under-13s, 15s, 17s and the senior team consisting of mainly Under-23s.
