Bulawayo Golf Club-based pro, Philip Tshuma has not played in over two years but will tee off at Royal Harare on October 22 at the National Aids Council Pro-Am Tournament.

Tshuma admitted that he is concern with parts iof his game as he prepares to play his first event in over two years.

The veteran golfer said he had been struggling with his put over the last few weeks but had been working on it on the putting greens and thinks it feels better now.

“I just felt I was not at my best with the put but I have been working on it and I am much happier with it now,” Tshuma said this Monday.

“I have been practicing and I feel confident I can more than just compete at the National Aids Council Pro-Am Tournament,” Tshuma told ezemidlalo.net

Tshuma also wlecomed the return of the game.

“It’s nice, like I get another bite at the cherry,” Tshuma said.

“The last two years or so have obviously been very surreal, difficult. Yeah, I think at least we know the NAC tournament is not going to be cancelled, unless something pretty crazy happens again.”

The Hwange-bred golfer feels his game is in far better shape ahead of the 2021 NCA Tournament. However, he acknowledged that playing competitively at the Pro-Am Tournament in Harare will be very difficult for every golfer on the course.

“It’s hard when you’re so far removed from playing competitively. It was two years ago, and a lot has happened since. I’ll still try to rekindle those feelings and memories from two years ago, and hopefully that gives me the spark that I need to get my game in shape.”
