HIGHLANDERS Volleyball Club have sent an SOS to help them fulfill their semi-final commitment of a national tournament.

Club coach, Wellington Hwata says the club is bankrupt.

Hwata funded the trip to Harare where the boys played well losing their first game to University of Zimbabwe before recovering in the group stages to make it to the round of eight.

In the quarter-finals Highlanders were paired with UZ and made amends for their earlier defeat with a polished display.

“It is important that we fulfill this fixture as boys are preparing for the Zone Six Championships to be held in Mozambique in January next,” said Hwata.

He said sponsorship would be good for the game and the youthful squad.

“We are appealing for cash or other incentives for the trip to Victoria Falls on December 18. We have been promised a vehicle or two which require fueling,” said Hwata.

Hwata will look up to the capped duo of Murphery Chindumbo and Conrad Kupara for inspiration and experience.

The other players in the side are: Nyakata Chiwara, Matthew Msamanyada, Evans Ncube, Joel Dube, Brilliant Moyo, Pardonic Ruguva, Nyaradzai Sibanda, Quincy Mudenda, and Charles Ncube.

Those willing to assist the club should reach out to Hwata on 0774350097
