“WE have our hands on the deck, preparations are going according to plan,” this is how the Marvellous Nakamba Foundation soccer tournament director, Nduduzo Mdlalose-Sibanda described the situation ahead of Saturday’s event.

The inaugural fiesta has attracted teams from around the country and will be hosted at White City.
Mdlalose-Sibanda said they are excited that over 300 youngsters will get an opportunity to showcase their talent.

He said there would be no losers at the event in which teenagers will get a chance to measure up against their peers from around the country.

“We feel every participant will be the winner in one way or the other,” said Mdlalose-Sibanda.

He added that 50 pupils drawn from Hwange District where the Nakamba family originates from will also grace the event.

The organisers believe being at the event should inspire them to dream more.

Mdlalose-Sibanda said the event is going to be screened on the foundation’s social media networks.

The tournament is for Under-17 boys and among the teams to take part is Hwange Dynamo from the Nakambas home town.

The organisers’ spokesperson said there were other activities lined up meant to equip players with life skills.
Marvellous, the Aston Villa midfield dynamo is expected to attend the event.
